Apocalypse 2012: The Final Countdown

We don’t have much time.

On December 21, 2012, many believe the world will end. The Mayan prophecies will prove correct, and at the end of the 13th Baktun of the Maya Long Count Calendar, our world will forever change.

Of course, NASA continues to rebut the idea of a looming doomsday, and even Pope Benedict XVI has recently spoken out against such prophecies.

But people still believe.

French officials have even banned access to the Pic de Bugarach, a mountain which some believe will play a large part in the coming apocalypse. Turns out, during our final hours of existence, many were intending to hitch a ride off the planet via an alien craft hiding within the mountain.

“Less well known is the rumour that one particular mountain in south-west France will burst open on that day revealing an alien spaceship which will carry nearby humans to safety.”

Personally, I don’t believe the world is going to end any time soon, much less next month. But you can be sure that I’ll cover it the best I can if and when it does.

After all, this blog wouldn’t exist without the promise of some kind of apocalypse.

Stay tuned.
