Hanna Buschbeck: A Vision from Beyond? Not So Fast, Says King Kong

The strangest thing on TV...

Inspired by the work of Friedrich Jürgenson, Hanna Buschbeck dedicated much of her life to researching electronic voice phenomena, or communication with the dead via audio recordings. So perhaps it’s no surprise that, after her own death in 1984, she would herself appear in spirit form on a television set. Or so a strange legend goes.

A video allegedly shows us this spirit form, which materialized as a brief, slow-motion picture on a “defective” televisor. According to those who might share this story in paranormal circles, this is an example of “visual transcommunication” achieved by Maggy and Jules Harsch-Fischbach on January 16, 1987. The spirit would later be identified as Hanna Buschbeck herself.

Before her death, Buschbeck worked extensively in the field of paranormal research, and organized international meetings with other prominent researchers to discuss experimental parapsychology. She died at the age of 78.

However, it would seem she returned. She appears young and happy, “as if she would like to speak,” but only for the briefest moment.

But then, as one YouTube commenter put it, “They have louvered blinds in the afterlife?” There’s a little more to this story, and as usual with paranormal fair, we’re about to ruin all the fun.

According to an analysis of this alleged paranormal video (which is in Portuguese), what you see here is actually a very, very short clip from a movie. And the woman is not Hannah Buschbeck, but instead the actress Linda Hamilton. And the movie? 1986’s King Kong Lives.

The clip actually appears right in one of the film’s trailers:

“Hello Kong,” she says in the movie, “welcome back.” And so long to an intriguing paranormal urban legend!
