I’ve always found it a bit funny how the Ouija board, that sinister portal for demonic entities, is sold to children at toy stores. Even if you allow for the possibility that it’s not an outright gateway for evil supernatural beings, it’s still odd. A communication device that allows the living to speak with the dead? That’s the perfect birthday gift for little Timmy and Mary Sue!
Is the Ouija Board Just a Game?
August 23, 2018Why Would Demons Choose Dolls As Conduits? (feat. Annabelle Mk. II)
June 28, 2018Both my limited horror movie knowledge (I recently watched The Conjuring and Annabelle) and years spent reading paranormal odds and ends, I know that, at least according to paranormal folklore, demons do not possess dolls. Instead, they often use them as conduits, like puppets, to lure humans in.
But why dolls, specifically?
If Aliens Are Out There, Maybe They Should Run
June 2, 2018Where are all the aliens? asks Russian theoretical physicist Alexander Berezin in his new paper, titled “‘First in, last out’ solution to the Fermi Paradox.”
It’s a question we’ve long pondered, and perhaps one of the greatest — in a universe so vast, and with so many seemingly habitable planets, why have we yet to observe intelligent extraterrestrial life? That is the Fermi paradox.
Berezin thinks the answer is simple, though perhaps somewhat “hard to accept.” In fact, he writes that it “predicts a future for our own civilization that is even worse than extinction.”
Well, now I’m curious.
April 23 Rapture Doomsday Extravaganza: Is The World Gonna End Tonight?
April 23, 2018Theory: Every time we hear one of these doomsday predictions, they actually do happen. However, because of something along the lines of quantum immortality, at the very end, everyone’s consciousness transfers into a new universe and we continue on living none the wiser. That’s the stuff the Mandela Effect is made of.
Art Bell Passes Away At 72
April 16, 2018Where I’m from, Coast to Coast AM begins at the stroke of Midnight.
It was a long time ago, up late on a school night, when I first heard it. I don’t even remember why. I guess I was just bored and, despite never usually listening to the radio, much less AM, I thought I’d scan the airwaves and see what was on.
Among the static and the monotone voices of other channels, I eventually tuned into an old woman telling a ghost story, of all things. Then, the low, mysterious voice of a late night host, asking questions and discussing topics I’d never really heard outside my old Daniel Cohen books and Unsolved Mysteries. Before the Internet was as big as it is, before broadband, before Ghost Adventures, there he was.
I didn’t know that host’s name back then. I do now.
Emergency Broadcast Warns Residents of Doomsday in Orange County, California
September 24, 2017Residents in Orange County, California got a rare treat a few days ago, when their television signals were hijacked by an “emergency alert” warning them of impending doom.
The broadcast actually contained a clip of the Area 51 caller, who frantically phoned into Art Bell’s Coast to Coast AM back in 1997, as well as clips from a Christian radio program speaking of “extremely violent times” to come.
Video: UFO Seekers Get Close View of Area 51
September 11, 2017The UFO Seekers team recently journeyed to Tikaboo Peak in Nevada, where they captured zoomed-in footage of the mysterious Area 51.
Investigators Tim Doyle and Tracey Sue published their footage on August 29, 2017, granting us a unique view of the enigmatic facility. Unable to get very close, they filmed some 25 miles away, zooming in with their camera.
Admittedly, there’s not much to see, but it’s one of the best peaks into Area 51 you’re likely to get without scaling a mountain yourself.
