Author Wonders If Some Missing People May Have Slipped Through Time

We’ve all heard the old stories of time slips — the Moberly-Jourdain Incident, Victor Goddard’s strange flight, the numerous alleged artifacts sprinkled throughout history that seem to be out of place. Or out of time. Now, an author is claiming that these time slip incidents are actually quite common, and that thousands of people may have inadvertently fallen through time, often never to be seen again.

The Daily Mail, of course, has all the details. They recently shared a number of unusual stories of people who have fallen out of sync with the arrow of time, or otherwise experienced situations where the fabric of the universe took an unexpected turn.

There’s the case of Caroline Anders, for example, who witnessed a congregation at a church that had been destroyed decades prior. It was as if, for a brief moment, a window to the past had opened and only she alone could see through it.

Paranormal Researcher Rodney Davies has compiled several of these stories, but they don’t always involve simple witnesses of unusual temporal activity. Notably, he says there may be some people out there who have “slipped to the past” completely and were unable to return.

What became of them? Perhaps they just lived their lives, like in that old Doctor Who episode Don’t Blink. What’s more, some of the strange alleged artifacts people claim to have found — such as the Chinese watch or the so-called Adidas Mummy — may not have been left by temporal tourists, but rather by individuals stuck in the past from an accidental time slip.

But if these cases are real, what causes time slips to occur? “Some paranormal investigators,” the Mail writes, “speculate that time slips tend to happen in more ancient areas where intense events have occurred.”
