Boston Dynamics Robots Say Goodbye to 2020 with Style

You know, it’s been eight years since the 2012 Mayan apocalypse. Kind of a slow burn, true, but I do think we’re getting there (I believe that’s option #6 in my Why The World Didn’t End Yesterday 2012 Post-Apocalypse Information Pamphletâ„¢).

Anyway, to celebrate the ending of 2020 and the beginning of whatever 2021 has in store, Boston Dynamics put together this wild video of their state-of-the-art robots dancing to the beat of “Do You Love Me?.”

They’ve come a long way since Big Dog, I’ll tell you that much. I wouldn’t blame you for thinking it’s all CGI, either. The robots’ movements are that smooth.

“Our whole crew got together to celebrate the start of what we hope will be a happier year,” they wrote, “Happy New Year from all of us at Boston Dynamics.”

I’ll leave you, then, with this famous quote from Kyle Reese in 1984’s The Terminator:

“Listen, and understand. That Terminator is out there. It can’t be bargained with. It can’t be reasoned with. It doesn’t feel pity, or remorse, or fear. And it absolutely will not stop, ever, until you are dead.

It’s got some good moves, though.”
