Legendary Ghost Kuntilanak Allegedly Captured On Video In Indonesia

A potentially strange video appeared online this month, showing what could be a ghost flying through the air in Indonesia.

In the video, amid the sounds of a gang fight, a white figure appears to glide over the crowd near a street lamp, then vanishes beyond the trees.

The video was shared on Instagram on January 1, 2017 by Ali Noviandi, and has since been viewed over 50,000 times. It’s also spread wildly throughout the Internet and on other social networks.

In his post, he mentioned Kuntilanak, and said to “focus on the street lamp.”

Kuntilanak is a vampiric spirit of Indonesian folklore. They’re said to be the spirits of women who died while pregnant, and sometimes appear in the form of birds and feast on the blood of virgins.

According to Wikipedia, “the bird, which makes a ‘ke-ke-ke’ sound as it flies, may be sent through some black magic…”

While some commenting on Instagram believe the figure in the video could be Kuntilanak, others think it may be nothing more than smoke, tear gas, or perhaps an ordinary object like a plastic bag caught in the wind.
