Amazing Giant Alligator Visits Florida Golf Course
I won’t blame you for thinking the above footage is fake. I mean, that’s one giant alligator – maybe 15 or 16 feet long – going on a casual walkabout at the Buffalo Creek Golf Course in Palmetto, Florida. That’s something you don’t see every day. But, believe it or not, this gator is very real.
“Talk about a hazard! A giant alligator took a stroll across the fairway, making his way to the lake beside the third hole at Buffalo Creek Golf Club.”
The video was taken by golfer Charles Helms, who originally uploaded it to Facebook on Wednesday, May 25, 2016.
According to Wendy Schofield, who works at the golf course, this monstrous alligator has been there for many years, and generally seems to mind his own business. She even refers to him as the course’s mascot.
Alligators on Florida golf courses are reportedly common, and mostly harmless. This one in particular, as seen in the video, just seems to ignore the human gawkers as he makes his way across. Given the beast’s incredible size, some have compared the encounter to watching dinosaurs at Jurassic Park.
