Back to the Future’s Hoverboard Has Arrived (But Not Really)

Back to the Future Part II’s 2015 version of Hill Valley was kind of evil. I mean, it set us up for complete disappointment. Here were are, one year away from 2015, and there’s no sign of flying cars or food hydrators or weird, A.I.-driven retro 80s cafes.

It’s kind of mind-boggling to think that, next year, we’ll be 30 years away from the first Back to the Future movie in 1985, which is the same distance in time that Marty McFly traveled when he accidentally went to 1955.

But where’s all my stuff? You can keep the flying cars (because they’d be incredibly dangerous), but I at least want my Mr. Fusion. And a hoverboard.

Well, whatever. A new video has popped up, along with a Facebook page and a website (huvrtech.com), that apparently exists solely to play with my hopes and dreams.

Viral marketing? Are we getting a new Back to the Future movie (I hope not)? Maybe it has something to do with that musical they’ve been working on.

Or maybe, just maybe, HUVr has successfully created an actual working hoverboard.

Yeah, that’s probably it.
