Can you believe it’s almost been 30 years since Ghostbusters hit theaters?
Yeah, let that sink in for a second.
Anyway, to celebrate the film’s 30th anniversary next year, 3D enviornment artist Brent Waller has submitted his own Ghostbusters set design to LEGO CUUSOO, which includes the Ecto-1, Slimer, and the Ghostbusters crew. Yeah, it’s awesome.
But looking at the page right now, the set only has 3,519 votes out of the necessary 10,000.
That’s not legal.
If you don’t know, LEGO CUUSOO (which apparently means “wish” in Japanese) launched in 2008.
It’s a website where anyone can dream up a LEGO product, share their concept, and have people vote for a chance for it to become an official LEGO set. Each project needs 10,000 votes before it qualifies to be reviewed, after which it may or may not hit the market.
For now, the next LEGO CUUSOO project to release will be a set based on everyone’s favorite Mars Science Laboratory, Curiosity. And let’s not forget about that wicked Back to the Future LEGO set by Team BTTF, which has also been approved. And Thinking With Portals.
Man, there’s a lot of awesome stuff over there.
Anyway, I’m surprised this Ghostbusters set hasn’t hit 10,000 votes, but it’s only been a few months.
Perhaps it’s just too hot to handle.
Too cold to hold.
But if you want somethin’ done, you gotta do it yourself. Head over to LEGO CUUSOO and toss this set a vote. It’ll make you feel good.
