You know, when we see old black-and-white footage, it’s like we’re viewing a world far removed from our own. Like these excerpts from the film Decasia, or the world’s oldest photograph. They belong to another time.
But truth is, the past isn’t that far away.
Take the above video: it’s color footage of New York in 1939. It’s fascinating to see this in color, because it honestly does look like it was filmed just yesterday. Well, aside from the obvious clothing styles and technology differences.
