Flying Robots Perform The James Bond Theme

A new video by the University of Pennsylvania General Robotics, Automation, Sensing and Perception Lab showcases a group of flying quadrotors performing the iconic James Bond theme.

“These flying quadrotors are completely autonomous, meaning humans are not controlling them; rather they are controlled by a computer programed with instructions to play the instruments.”

The flying robots, programmed to perform the theme song, bob up and down on what look like spatulas attached to a keyboard, bang on a cymbal, and tap out the melody on prearranged wires (otherwise known as the “couch guitar”). They even strum an actual guitar at the end.

It’s a fascinating performance. No word yet on when they’ll go on tour.
