MUFON case 76704 describes a curious UFO sighting in Grass Valley, California, involving an object that appeared to change shape.

At 7:30 PM on Saturday, May 28, 2016, the witness noticed an object while standing on his deck, where it appeared as a small dot in the sky, moving upward from east to south. It later changed direction, stopping completely before moving up over a cloud, after which it “slowly faded from sight.”

During the event, which lasted about 7 minutes, he called for his roommate to get a camera, and they took five photographs. Strangely, however, when viewing the photographs, the object appears differently in each one.

In the first, the object appears very solid, though in another it looks almost like an orb. The final image, strangest of all, shows it as a golden bell-shaped object with smaller spheres at its bottom.

To the naked eye, says the witness, the object appeared spherical and reflective, though it would seemingly “dim” at times. It did not, however, give off its own light.

Cool pics, but… if it lasted long enough to go “find a camera” and get multiple photos, why the heck didn’t one of them get video? Who doesn’t have a smartphone in 2016???

No idea. UFO sightings always seem to come with a “Why didn’t they?”

Because–sightings are so rare and they are meant for the person seeing them. There is no need to “grab a recording device” because that moment is to be communally shared between the craft and the person seeing it.

Yes, I have seen an unidentified flying object split in half and then fly in opposite directions. This was over Cuesta Community College in San Luis Obispo during the summer of 2012 and the witness was a summer gardener that kept the lawns up when school is out.

That’s the thing, you’re not going to get it until you really sit down and watch the clouds, they use them.
