ARK: Survival Evolved Adds Bigfoot and the Loch Ness Monster

So, I’ve been away. I don’t really have an explanation for that. I think, sometimes, you just need to take a break. Or two breaks. Maybe three.

But that’s not the point, here. The point here is that, during my rather lengthy vacation away from Stranger Dimensions, I found myself sucked into the curious world of ARK: Survival Evolved.

Now, if I were to describe something like ARK to someone who’s never played it before, I’d say this: it’s a PC game where you wake up on an island wearing a diaper, you walk around punching trees, and you ride dinosaurs. So, you know, the usual.

Anyway, I really don’t want to bore you with an article about a video game, but I thought you’d find this interesting. The developers are constantly adding new dinosaurs and other creatures, and wouldn’t you know it, on the list are the Plesiosaur and Gigantopithecus. That’s right: The Loch Ness Monster and Bigfoot.

They even made these cool dossiers for them:

Naturally, I’m taking a bit of liberty here by calling Gigantopithecus “Bigfoot.” But theories do exist stating that the elusive cryptid may very well be related, and it’s pretty clear what ARK is going for here. Same with the Loch Ness Monster, as many believe Nessie could be a living plesiosaur.

Well, I thought it was neat, anyway. Onward!
