Fireball Streaks Across Texas Night Sky

A NASA camera (apparently attached to a car) captured footage of a streaking fireball as it flashed against the night sky of northern Texas on December 7, 2012.

What was it? An exploding alien craft? The opening bell of the Mayan apocalypse? The time-machine DeLorean returning from good old 1955?

Nope.

It was a meteor.

Again.

Here’s another shot of the meteor, taken from the actual NASA camera at their Meteoroid Environment Office in New Mexico. You can see it, just a quick flash, at the left:
