A man in northern Utah, about 40 miles north of Salt Lake City, has been dressing up as a goat and mingling with the local wildlife. Of course, there’s nothing illegal about that, but wildlife officials are nonetheless concerned.
The real problem?
It’s almost hunting season.
Officials fear that the “goat man” isn’t aware of the dangers, and that he might accidentally be shot when the season begins in September. They’re also worried he’ll be attacked by an actual goat.
Life’s hard for a Goat Man, I guess.
From The Sacramento Bee:
“They may get agitated. They’re territorial. They are, after all, wild animals,” [Phil Douglass of the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources] said. “This person puts on a goat suit, he changes the game.”
If they can’t get a hold of this guy (is there a Goat Man signal?), I imagine this year’s goat-hunting season is going to be pretty interesting.
